Meyer Voggenreiter, between precision and bluff

1954 –

Meyer Voggenreiter studied art history and philosophy before working in graphic design. In 1985, he became one of the founding members of Pentagon Gruppe and took on the role of “corporate identity” manager for the group and their gallery.

While many creations were made in collaboration with Reinhard Müller, he independently designed the neon lamp An Alle (1985), the accordion-style cupboards Wagon-Lit (1987), and the Mai 68 bookshelf (1987), assembled from wooden crates.

For the Café Casino, he created one of the counter table Stehtisch für das Café Casino (1987), which was reused in 1989 during the Café Casino in Frankfurt.
