Wolfgang Laubersheimer, the team leader
1955 –
Wolfgang Laubersheimer studied sculpture under Professor Anton Berger at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Cologne. In 1985, he became one of the founders of Pentagon Gruppe and graduated from the Academy in 1989.
His main creations include the Schreibtisch series (1988) in stoneware, allowing plants to grow on a tray through water circuits; the Kommode (1988) in lava stone and metal, designed to fill the upper basin with water for aquatic plants; the Lift-Regal bookshelf (1987), equipped with a system that adjusts shelf height via a chair connected to a worm screw.
Another modular bookshelf: the Wagenheberregal (1986), which adjusts shelf height using car jacks.
His most well-known work is undoubtedly the Patentregal bookshelf (1989), located behind the bar at the Café Casino during Art Frankfurt in 1989.
For the Café Casino, he created one of the counter table Stehtisch für das Café Casino (1987).
